Voltabox and Schäffer: Two Strong Partners for E-mobility in Agriculture and Construction

- Voltabox AG and Schäffer Maschinenfabrik GmbH agree on close cooperation

- Schäffer is a leading provider of compact loaders, wheel loaders and teleloaders

- First series production order for new Voltabox market segment agriculture and construction

- Voltabox AG develops intelligent battery systems for various types of vehicles

- World premiere at Agritechnica 2017 in Hanover

Delbrück, Germany, November 22, 2017 - Today, Voltabox AG (ISIN DE000A2E4LE9) announced its cooperation with Schäffer Maschinenfabrik GmbH (based in Erwitte, Germany) in the area of the electrification of compact loaders, wheel loaders and teleloaders.

With its innovative technology concepts, Voltabox AG has successfully established itself as a leading provider in the individual industrial electromobility submarkets. The advantages of lithium-ion technology, the forward-looking energy system design and the intelligent battery management from Voltabox provide vehicles and machines with high load requirements with performance and cost benefits that simply aren't possible with any other drive technology available on the market today.

With the first series production order from Schäffer Maschinenfabrik GmbH from Erwitte, which has been a leading manufacturer for decades in Germany and Europe of compact loaders, wheel loaders and teleloaders for use in agriculture and construction, Voltabox successfully entered the agriculture and construction market segment. Through this partnership, Schäffer is gaining a strong collaborator and specialist in electromobility from the East Westphalia region.

The first vehicle with a Voltabox lithium-ion battery system recently celebrated its world premiere at Schäffer Maschinenfabrik's exhibition stand at the world-leading "Agritechnica" agricultural trade fair in Hanover. Voltabox will use its NMC technology, which has already been extensively tested in practice.

"Smart farming is an ideal application area for our Voltabox high performance batteries," says Jürgen Pampel, Chief Executive Officer of Voltabox AG. "As a result, we are very pleased that with Schäffer, we have been able to gain a first important partner from agriculture and construction and so achieve another milestone in our corporate history. In the future, Voltabox technology will enable the efficient, stable and long-term use of Schäffer e-loaders."

A significant advantage of using e-loaders in agriculture is, alongside the lower levels of noise emissions, the better use of self-generated energy from biogas and photovoltaic systems. As a result, this technology will allow farmers to achieve a better energy footprint. When e-loaders are put to use in construction or used for regional development purposes, the lower level of noise emissions is the biggest advantage.

"We want to be one of the first to share the significant performance and cost advantages of lithium-ion battery systems with our worldwide customers in agriculture and construction," adds Rüdiger Lohoff, managing director of Schäffer Maschinenfabrik. "As an essential partner to the agricultural and construction industries, we are always on the lookout for new opportunities for our customers to reduce their overall operating costs and to optimize the performance of their machinery safely. The electrification of our vehicles and the related close cooperation with Voltabox in the area of lithium-ion battery systems represent the next step forward for our broad product range."
